Event Manager for the Department of Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU FEE) is looking for an Event Manager to help showcase our research and technologies through events ranging from small expert discussions to large public and student-focused activities.

What you'll do

Event production and management

● Plan and deliver a wide range of internal and public events from start to finish (typically 2–4 events per month), including seminars, public discussions, Open Day, team-building activities, Christmas parties, participation in science and technology fairs, and more.

Programme development

● Work closely with our PR team to create engaging event programmes.

● Invite and coordinate speakers.

● Identify new opportunities for participation in conferences, exhibitions, public engagement events, and internal activities.

Operations and logistics

● Coordinate with CTU facilities management.

● Arrange catering, promotional materials, and other event logistics.

● Handle the necessary administrative tasks using CTU's internal procurement and ordering system.

Coordination

● Lead and coordinate colleagues and student volunteers during events.

What we're looking for

● A university or secondary-school qualification.

● Previous experience in event management, event production, or organising events.

● Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to see projects through to completion.

● Good command of English. We are an international department, and we work in both Czech and English.

● A proactive mindset, curiosity, and enthusiasm for technology. Experience in an academic environment is an advantage but not required.

● A collaborative approach and willingness to work closely with our PR and HR teams, as well as coordinate student volunteers.

What we offer

● A 0.5 FTE position, with the possibility of increasing the workload in the future.

● Starting salary of CZK 25,000–30,000 per month (for a 0.5 FTE), depending on qualifications and experience.

● Six weeks of paid holiday plus additional CTU employee benefits.

● Benefits including a MultiSport card (employee contribution: CZK 980/month) and a pension contribution after one year of employment.

● A fixed-term contract for one year, with the possibility of extension.

● Flexible working arrangements, including occasional remote work.

● An excellent location directly next to Karlovo náměstí metro station (Line B) in Prague.

Start date

October 2026, or by mutual agreement.
