ESL teaching position

The Cloverleaf language school has been operating on the market for more than 30 years since 1993 and is one of the leaders in language education in the city of Ostrava, the Moravian-Silesian region and the Czech Republic, and is an authorized centre for the University of Cambridge - Cambridge English Language Assessment.

For native speakers, we offer full-time work as part of the regional project "Native speakers in schools". This is co-teaching in secondary schools as part of English language teaching in the range of 5 lessons per day / 25 lessons per week.

We also offer lessons in courses for the public within our language school and lessons for corporate clients directly in individual companies - these lessons are ad hoc according to current demand and their number and frequency may change over time.

A self-employed contract would be signed with a salary of approx. CZK 350/45 minutes of teaching, for which a work visa and trade license are required - more information here:

It is possible to start classes either immediately or from September 2024. We require documents authorizing legal work, for which a tourist visa is not sufficient. Processing the trade license, if you have already been granted a work visa, is not a problem - it can be processed within a few days.

The qualification requirements are as follows:
For the purposes of the contract, a "native speaker"; is a person who was born and has lived for at least 15 years in a country where the official language is English, or who was born in a country with another official language (except Slavic languages) and has a certificate proving knowledge of English at least at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR / SERRJ) - not older than 5 years.

Additional native speaker requirements:
a) Graduated from secondary school in the field of pedagogy OR
b) Completed secondary school of another discipline and at least 3 years of experience in education OR
c) Completed secondary school of another discipline, one of the TEFL, CELTA certificates and at least 3 years of teaching experience OR
d) min. 3 years of pedagogical studies at the university any time.
